DrawHop
Privacy Policy
This is the privacy policy for the mobile app DrawHop
(bundle / package ID pro.webcorrect.drawhop). It's written
in plain English so a parent can read it in a few minutes.
Short version
- DrawHop does not collect personal information about your child or you.
- Everything the app does happens on the device.
- The Android release does not have permission to use the internet at all.
- There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no third-party trackers.
- Nothing is uploaded anywhere by DrawHop.
What the app does
DrawHop turns a child's drawing into an animation. You photograph the drawing. The app finds the characters in the picture, animates them, writes a short story about the scene, and reads that story out loud. You can save the animation as a video, or share it.
All processing is on the device
Finding characters in the drawing, estimating how they move, writing the story and reading it aloud — all of that runs locally on your phone or tablet. Nothing is sent to a server. There is no DrawHop server, and there is no DrawHop backend.
The Android release build ships with no internet permission at all. It is technically incapable of making a network connection.
Camera
DrawHop asks for camera access for one reason: to photograph a drawing. Photos taken in the app are stored on the device, inside the app's own storage. They are not uploaded.
Where things are stored, and how to delete them
Photos of drawings and the animations DrawHop creates are stored locally in the app's storage on the device. If you uninstall the app, that storage — and everything in it — is removed.
Sharing an animation
Sharing is always something you choose to do. When you tap share, DrawHop hands the finished video to your device's standard share sheet. From there, you pick which app receives it (Messages, Photos, email, and so on). DrawHop itself does not upload the video anywhere.
No accounts, no purchases
There is no sign-in and there are no user accounts. There are no in-app purchases and no subscriptions.
No third-party services
DrawHop does not include analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or any other third-party tracker. No data is shared with third parties, because no data leaves the device.
Children's privacy
DrawHop is designed for children.
- We do not collect personal information from anyone using DrawHop, including children.
- We do not transmit personal information from the device.
- We do not sell any information about anyone using DrawHop, because we don't have any.
- There is no behavioural advertising in DrawHop.
- There is no tracking of behaviour in DrawHop.
- There is no third-party data sharing in DrawHop.
A parent who is uncomfortable with the app can uninstall it, which removes everything the app stored on the device.
